But what are the guidelines for mailing your knives and tools to our shop?

Here’s our recommendations:

1. Knives and shears

Once you've selected the knives and tools you'd like to send us, the next step is to wrap them securely to ensure they arrive at our shop safely.

Make sure you wrap the biggest knife first and gradually move to the smallest object in the bundle. After every tools is safely wrapped, secure the towel with a couple of rubber bands.

As an extra step, you also can wrap your set in bubble wrap and secure it with scotch tape or rubber bands.

2. Mailing Tools

Mailing tools can be a bit tricky, but with the right preparation, it’s easy to ensure they arrive safely. For small to medium-sized tools, you can choose to wrap the entire tool or just the cutting edge, depending on its size and shape.

For wrapping materials, consider using paper towels, regular towels, cardboard, or similar protective materials. The key is to securely cover the cutting edges to prevent them from puncturing the mailing box during transit. Always ensure the tools are tightly wrapped and cushioned for maximum safety.

3. Large tools

When mailing large tools to our shop, it’s crucial to provide multiple protective layers for their cutting edges. Because large tools are heavier, their sharp edges pose a greater risk during transit.

Consider using durable materials like plastic sheaths or similar protective covers to safeguard the edges. If sheaths aren’t available, wrap the cutting edges in thick cardboard or multiple layers of bubble wrap, securing them tightly with strong tape. This ensures both the tools and the packaging stay intact.
